Happy Fathers Day!

Happy Father's Day to my Dad. 25 years ago he passed away. I miss him still and if I listen I can hear his voice. That is a comfort to me. I love you Dad.

Happy Father's Day to our son in law Tony. Thank you for being such a great dad to your boys! They are truly the light of our lives! We love you Tony.

Happy Father's Day to Doug. Although Doug never had his own biological kids, he loved mine from the moment he met them. He has shared many milestones in Shea and Scott's lives. From babies to weddings ,
he has been a part of it all. This man has a heart bigger than the size of Texas. We are all so lucky to have him in our lives. We joke a lot about being Dad to the three cats and 1 dog named Lucy, but seriously, he loves them with all his heart.

So, Happy Father's Day to you all! xoxo

Mom

So, once Mother's Day has rolled around. Like millions of people, this holiday is a hard one for me since my Mom passed away. There are so many things I miss about her. My Mom slowly starting leaving us way before she actually did because of dementia. The phone calls got harder, the visits were shorter, and as the frustration of this horrible disease grew, so did my love and respect for my Mom. I miss her. I miss her laughter. I miss telling her stories of her sweet Great Grandsons. I wish more than anything that she could of met Scott's new bride Ashley. Mom would of loved her like we do. It makes me chuckle a bit if she could see our dog Lucy, and how different my life turned out to be.

For any of you who may read this, please do me a favor! Tell your Mom how much you love her. Tell her a story or two, and if you are lucky enough to have her near you, give her a big hug and tell her how much she means to you. I guarantee it will make her heart sing.

Happy Mothers Day Mom. You memory is etched in my heart forever.

Well, We meet again.

Well hello all! It's nice to see you again. Yes, I took a blogger break! A two year break to be exact. A lot has happened since the last time I wrote. We have gained a wonderful new daughter in law to our family. Ashley and Scott got married last August! It was a wonderful day and they are two very happy people! We also added another new member to our family. An old english bulldog named Lucy, or on a bad day we call her Lucifer! haha.

I hope to be more active on here as it is a nice break from Facebook. We have a trip to Utah in a few days, so there will be pictures posted next time!

This and That...

Hello all! We hope everyone is enjoying the mild fall we are having! Doug, Scott and I are anxious for Shea, Tony and the boys visit in 2 weeks. We have some fun things planned and I need my Grandson fix!! Doug is still doing the big remodel at his store. He has had a very long summer with no vacation time so I know he will be taking lots of time off this winter! Lets hope so!

I did something this morning that I have been thinking about doing for a long time. I registered to be a volunteer at the 2009 Winter Special Olympics! I am very excited about this and I hope it will be a fun experience as well as a very rewarding one! I don't know what I will be doing yet but I'm sure I will be notified soon enough!

Our Wedding Anniversary! 09/08/2007

Dear Doug,
Happy One Anniversary to us! I know it seems like five! Oh wait a minute...it has been five years since our very first date! I knew from that first date at Art in The Park, that you were going to be the man in my life. From the get go, things just fell into place for us. Life has never been better! From adopting our cats from the shelter, to buying furniture, getting engaged, painting the whole inside of the house a week before Thanksgiving! Alot happened that first few months in 2003. Thankyou for all of that craziness! Thankyou for loving my kids as if they were your own flesh and blood. For always being there for all of us, and for being such a wonderful "Grandpa Doug" to Taylor and Isaac!
I just wanted you to know how much I love you! You are my rock, my inspiration and the love of my life. I know how blessed I am that you chose me to be in your life. We have so much to look forward to! So, with all that said, Happy 1st year Anniversary Doug! You have my love forever and always! Cathy

Flowers!

Just wanted to share some pics of our hanging baskets on our front porch. Because it gets so hot here in Boise, it's a challenge to keep flowering baskets looking nice. This year we have been lucky so far and have done ok, Well...its our second round of baskets as the first ones died in June. We got these baskets on July 4th and so far so good! Yay!! I bought this chair and flowering plant at a craft fair 2 weeks ago. The lady was desperate to get rid of it as she didn't want to have to haul it back to Weiser in her little car. I got it for 22 bucks. Heck, the plant was worth that much! I love it and it's a nice addition to our little porch. Enjoy.

"Give it up for Chicago" Wahooo!!!

Last night Doug, Scott and I went to the Western Idaho State Fair. We did the normal things that people do at fairs..eat...drink..eat...and people watch. That in itself is pretty entertaining! However this night turned out to be something to remember. Chicago actually held a concert there and it was FREE!! We paid the 6 bucks or whatever it was to get into the fair and then the concert was a freebie. Now, we were thinking how big can this concert be? They would probably come on stage, play maybe 6 or 7 songs and be on their merry way. This was not the case. The gates opened up earlier then what we thought so we were very late to find seats. The only seats left were on the turf. Flashbacks of when I was a juinor in high school and saw Chicago in concert at the Minidome in Pocatello Idaho flooded my head. This was gonna be cool! We still had about 50 minutes til the concert started so we sat down until my back and butt could not stand it any longer! Soon 7:30 was upon us and Chicago came onto the stage. I am not sure how many people were standing on the turf but I can tell you this..it was packed! They started playing and the crowd went wild! Young and old people coming together and singing songs from the past. It was amazing! Of course Peter Cetera went out on his own years ago and 2 others were not there anymore either, but the true Chicago sound lives on! They ended up in style with a drum solo that was, as Isaac would say "freakin awesome" The crowd went wild again and screamed and clapped and flipped lighters until they came out for an encore and did 3 more songs. I forgot how loud I could scream!! The concert started at 7;30 and ended at 9;25..not bad huh? And that was all Chicago playing! We had a really great time. Scott enjoyed it and sometimes he would say..wow.."I didn't know Chicago sang that song!" If any of you who may read this have a chance to go see Chicago, I strongly suggest you do! They are a truly timeless band!
Sorry about the picture quality as it was taken with my cell phone...yeah..I forgot the camera!
